The concordances and word indices contain all words ordered alphabetically, with a reference to the chapter and verse where each word appears in the text. Even often-repeated words such as the conjunction e or i are included, though text in brackets (text that has been conjecturally added by the editors) has been left out. In these indices, vocalic elisions are shown conserving the apostrophe and the middle dot; thus the form d’Israell is indexed under d’ and Israell, and the form no·ls under no and ·ls. It must be kept in mind that the forms from the medieval manuscripts dequell, demargor, dello, etc. are separated in the transcription according to modern Catalan usage (d’equell, d’emargor, d’ellò, etc. and not de·quell, de·margor, de·llò, etc.), in spite of the fact that the forms equell, ello, etc. never appear in the published manuscripts with an initial e, except when joined with the preposition de (or de conjunction e). Roman numerals are included in their upper case form and without any separation between their different constituent elements.
All the words given in the concordances begin with a lower-case or upper-case letter according to how they appear in the edited text. In the word-indices only proper names begin with an upper-case letter; letters capitalised at the beginning of a line have been converted into lower case.
The word indices, if printed on paper in two columns, would take up as many or more pages than the texts themselves, and the concordances, as is logical, would take up many more times as much space. Indices and concordances, therefore,are available only in digital format. They should be downloaded from this web page.
Concordances and indices are prepared by Pere Casanellas with the assistance of the programme Classical Text Editor, developed by Stefan Hagel.
In the case of La Bíblia del segle XIV (‘The Fourteenth-Century Bible’), separate concordances and word indices are being produced, for the time being, from the totality of biblical books edited in each volume. We plan to publish a unique concordance and a unique index for each of the manuscripts (i.e. one which will include, in a single list, the words from all the biblical books contained in each of the manuscripts) once all the volumes of the Bible have been published.
The medieval and Renaissance texts of the CBCat are incorporated, in lemmatised form, within the concordances of the Diccionari de textos catalans antics and will therefore constitute one of the sources for the preparation of the forthcoming Diccionari del català antic.

1. The concordances and indices for Volume 3 were produced after the errata discovered prior to September 6, 2004 had already been introduced into the text. They have been revised in accordance with a criterion of transcription first put into practice in the following volumes, so that there exists a unity between all the concordances and indices.
